Morwell National Park 29/10/24
This is a scenic walk through Morwell National Park, located in the Latrobe Valley area of Gippsland. Meet in the Railway Park Carpark, Tarwin Street Boolarra at 9am to car pool to the Kerrys Road Picnic area, Jeeralang Junction where Pat Williams will meet us for the start of the walk.
This is a wonderfull walk passing through Fosters Gully and Stringybark Ridge taking in old growth forest and temperate rainforest. Walkers will see amazing old mountain grey gums and messmate gums. There is plenty of birdlife to be seen and if we are lucky Lyrebirds may cross the path. This is a special section of the forest in the Strzelecki Ranges.
Please wear appropiate clothing for the conditions, wear sun protection and carry water. Poles are recommended. Bring snacks and refreshments for morning tea break.There are toilets in Boolarra and at the Kerrys Rd picnic area.
Lunch at one of the cafe's in Yinnar after the walk.
