Multi Club Activities
Multiple Club membership is now common place amongst our members and those of like-minded Clubs, particularly in our region.
It is also now becoming common practice to host multi/joint Club activities and so we have developed a few guidelines to support those wishing to undertake such activities. In doing so we have reflected as far as possible the guidelines published by the Strezlecki Bushwalking Club to ensure consistency and manage member expectations while observing our basic legal requirements
- Each Club activity will operate under the auspice of just one club with participants attending as either a member of that Club or as a visitor
- The designated club shall have overall responsibility for that activity including conditions of the activity, incident report and insurance claims etc
- The Activity Leader has the final say on all ‘on track’ decisions and all reasonable instructions given by the leader should be followed.
- Participants may be asked to prove their experience, fitness and capability to complete the activity and if in doubt the leader has the authority to refuse participation.
- Arrangements for multi-club activities must abide by the normal processes for the designated club. In the case of SGWAAC this will involve submission of the proposed activity to the appropriate activity co-ordinator via the website for approval and publication on the events calender on the website
- All participants will be asked to provide an Emergency Contact who should be someone who will not be accompanying you on the activity
Your well being is of paramount importance to us, but you have a responsibility for your own safety. By following some simple guidelines you will contribute to both the safety and enjoyment of the whole group - see here
Have a great time and enjoy your adventure
