How could we believe we could paddle in August in thin shirt sleeves and get hot, just too good to miss out on, a perfect paddle forecast.
The Darby River did not disappoint, first inland upstream, then to the mouth. This place always for me holds a mystic feel, maybe it’s the large sand cliff that towers above us, as we marvel at the animal tracks coming down to drink fresh water.
Returning to our vehicles and on to Tidal River, with lunch on the sand by the water. There was not a lot of water, at low tide, but we managed, and proceeded upstream in perfect conditions as the river winds its way back into dense tee tree.
Thanks to Don, Maree, & Michael for another perfect day on the water together.
