Wow! What else could one say about todays hike!
The day began at Fish Creek with Graham organising car pooling to Whiskey Bay and Tidal River. Not an easy task but done like an expert.
We all arrived at Tidal River as planned, albeit a little late and joined the others that had arrived earlier. We were keen, the weather turned it on, a quick head count of 26 or was that 27? (I never did find out.) and we set off.
A quick climb to Pillar Point for a spectacular view of Norman Bay, followed by a beautiful walk to Squeaky Beach. It was downhill the whole way except for the uphill bits.
Recently awarded Number One Beach in Australia, Squeaky Beach did not disappoint and yes it is squeaky. The group continued on to Picnic Bay with our trek arriving at Whiskey Bay for lunch. We are incredibly lucky to have this on our doorstep. The group divided after lunch with some heading off home and others doing the return hike. The numbers were debated and apparently there is a 10% acceptable loss when out hiking so to the 2..7people left wandering around Whiskey Bay we hope you found your way home.
It was a wonderful day with fantastic company. Thanks to Elizabeth as group leader.
In finishing I should confirm everyone is accounted for. (I think)
