Our group of six cyclists met at the Old Foster Railway Station adjacent to Great Southern Rail Trail at 9.00am.
We were blessed with very pleasant conditions with little wind . Our journey began with a sojourn along the rail trail to Toora , where we took the oppurtunity to indulge ourselves at the Windmill Cafe on coffee and cake .
Leaving Toora we cycled back roads to Port Franklin and explored the port and wetlands boardwalk ( thanks to a suggestion from Mary Anne ). We also checked out the lookout and took in the extensive views of the Prom , wetlands and surrounding hills .
From Port Franklin we cycled through Bennison , along the South Gippsland Hwy and Charity Lane back to Foster. Some riders returned via the rail trail as they had other priorities. All in all a pleasant day out .
