Where is the Port Old Maffra? A complete mystery to some! Can you believe a couple of our crew were seen wandering the streets of Maffra looking for the Port!

On arrival Graham produced a box of re grapes, absolutely delicious sustenance for the whole group. Shane got to transport them for the journey on the back of his kayak.

Leaving Maffra the river is quite wide with a gentle current but as the river narrowed we had to work with a bit more effort, especially to get past a couple of snags. Water dragons were out sunning themselves and our peaceful paddle was disturbed by a raucous colony of bats.

Bellbird Reserve was a perfect spot for lunch afterwhich, we enjoyed an "energetic" walk towards the "coffin" tree to check out local surroundings, then back to the kayaks for a "current assisted" return to cars, to eat more grapes and load

Another magnificent day on the water.

Thanks heaps to Avenel for organising and communication with the weather gods...
