We started our Paddle form the Silt Jetty car Park on the Mitchell River,Tuesday 17th November and soon found ourselves paddling under the "bluff",

This huge land formation is massive and quite dautning in size. We were sheltered, almost, from the west wind as we paddled approx 10.6 ks to Bairnsdale, the pontoon opposite the old factory has been renovated so it's now very user friendly, easy to enter/exit, so, a perfect place for our lunch stop. Return paddle was equally enjoyable, only challenge was, steep banks meant exit on the way is difficult, except for a convenient tree laying into the water, we managed to exit briefly here, only to have a fishing boat appear, interrupting our plans, but all ok. Pat spotted two small water dragons as well as two adult swans, with young to greet us back at the boat ramp This is a truly great paddle for the future.

Katie and I enjoyed a gentle paddle around the canals, this is always a "gobsmacking" experience to view the opulence of the houses and vessels, this paddle is always a must each time we visit. Annie also enjoyed a gentle paddle on the canal on her SUP.

Wednesday morning Pat & l paddled the waterway between Raymond Island and Paynesville, we were welcomed by two dolphins travelling thru, and once again a perfect paddle in a tranquil setting amongst the swans and occasional boat, and of course dodging the ferry. Thanks heaps to Kerry for organising another really great trip away. We will be back.
