Leadership Forum
The Leadership Forum will be held prior to the Annual General Meeting, starting at 09:00. Coffee/Tea will be available from 08:00 to give club members the chance to register and catch up. There will be presentations and discussions on topics relevant to bushwalking clubs. The full program will be sent to clubs in May. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be served. see here

Bushwalking Victoria provides free training in leadership skills to our affiliated member clubs, Due to COVID-19 restrictions numbers are limited to 15 participants per course and we ask that all participants who register intend to lead/co-lead a walk in the next 6 months. .Time and Venue:

- Leadership skills
- Walk planning
- Risk management
- Conducting the walk
- Navigation
- Incident management
- Practical navigation exercises, discussion about particular scenarios and what to do as a leader.
Bushwalking Victoria will provide a handbook for each participant, access to a compass, maps, and presentation material for the day. A small pre-reading document will be sent to registered participants prior to the course date. see here

Want to learn how to use your smartphone for navigation, anywhere, anytime?
Bushwalking Victoria is conducting a workshop on how to use your smartphone for navigation on Sunday, 16 May (GPS owners could use this course to practise their skills with their device).
In this workshop, we will look at how GPS satellite navigation works – the theory, practicalities, advantages and limitations.
We will discuss a variety of smartphone mapping/navigation apps, including Avenza, maps.me and Terra Map.see here
