Great Ocean Walk with Daypacks.

    We now have a mini coach. Number of participants has increased to 21

This EoI is for Ken to establish numbers for transport and to advise the Bimbi Park site of potential bookings. The transport and site book up very quickly so Ken needs to know numbers within the next two weeks. Currently limited to 14 participants at a cost of $250 per person. If there is more interest Ken will contact the transport company to quote for a larger bus. Each day we will be dropped at the start of the walk and collected from the end of the walk. I.e. We need only DAY PACKS!!!

We will be staying at Bimbi Park near Cape Otway. There are various accomodations available. See their website for details. If contacting the site mention SGWAAC.

Meet at Bimbi Park on 23rd February 2026

Start the walk on 24th February 2026. Last day of walking 1st March 2026. Return home 2nd March 2026.

Day 1 Apollo Bay to Blanket Bay 21.6 km

Day 2 Blanket Bay to Cape Otway (With option to visit lighthouse) 9.6 km

Day 3 Cape Otway to Castle Cove 15.5 km

Arriving at Bryce's Gorge campground on the afternoon of Suday 7th December 2025 to set up camp.
Bryce's Gorge is is 65 km past Licola with 42 km of gravel.
Licola is 130 km from Mirboo North.
Depending on participant numbers there maybe the opportunity to carpool.

This can be a base camp at Bryce's Gorge and combined with a Multi day hike to Mount Howitt and Mount Buggery 
Camping will be at Bryce's Gorge campground which has a toilet and fire pits, you can car camp utilising the car, tent, or mobile home or a caravan/trailer camper.
The walk at Bryce's Gorge is on a 9 km circuit track, taking in two  waterfalls and a cattleman's hut, there should be an abundance of wildflowers. Returning to the campground to spend a second night and then depart for home or enjoy the second part of this adventure with a multi day hike with full backpacks.

You will need to bring sufficient food and water to cater for the duration you wish to stay in the High Country. Along with suitable clothing and footwear for Alpine conditions. Bring walking poles if you use them
