Opportunity to explore Glenmaggie Inlet and Glenmaggie Creek after the recent rain event.

12 km walk through coastal vegetation to reach Point Smythe, returning via the beach.

It’s Thursday morning and what a glorious day greets us, as we gather at Fish Creek for our little adventure. Pleasantries, greetings and introductions are exchanged before our small enthusiastic group of walkers set off.

As we set off along the rail trail there is much banter about the view that we heading towards. Some of our group have already experienced the view from Mt Nicoll and are happy to share their excitement for what lays ahead.

As we follow our marked trail across the farmland we are already taken by the beauty of the countryside that we are walking through, there is, however, no way of avoiding the water that is everywhere. Our spirits, however, cannot be dampened as we leave the flat land and head towards our climb to Mt Nicoll.

After a short break for morning tea, we start our ascent along the track towards the view that we are now all anticipating. As we work our way towards the peak we cannot resist stopping (resting) and taking in the magnificent views that we are so lucky to be sharing.

As we make our way towards our reserved lunch table, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect restaurant! We are all in awe of the view that we are sharing over Andersons Inlet and Wilsons Prom, and all with near perfect weather.

As we head back towards Fish Creek to say our farewells, we are treated to an impromptu afternoon tea provided by the ever thoughtful Pat.

Many thanks to Roz for organising everything, including the perfect weather for our little jaunt. Ripper day Roz!
