This paddle was the last in the series of short paddles, designed to keep our involvement with the sport over the winter months.

We started the paddle at the boat ramp on Sawtells Inlet which is just north of the South Gippsland Hwy and behind the shopping center.

Sawtells Inlet is a large body of water with a walking track on one side and several fishing platforms on the other and both of them were being well used. After passing through the Inlet we paddled upstream in a creek which is really the main drain coming from the Koo Wee Rup Swamp. It's a pleasant paddle with mangroves on both sides of the waterway, broken up with views of farmland.

The stream started to narrow after several kilometers so we decided to turn around and return to the starting point, where we had a late lunch and a chat before heading for home.

Thanks to our leaders for putting on this series of paddles.
