Pleasant 17km return walk along the old railway line track. Beautiful rainforest with tall trees and lots of tree ferns.
Two of our group were wild fungi foragers and lots of fungi were spotted and identified.
At half way, our turn around point, at Thompson railway siding, the tourist train that runs from Walhalla daily was just leaving. $40/ticket. Tea and coffee was available at the cafe there.
Post walk lunch at the Erica pub. All in all, a very pleasant day. Worth the drive to get there.
There were 10 participants, Helen was our Leader.
