We gathered in the car park for the Swan Lake leg of a two part walk on Phillip Island at 9am on a mild sunny Tuesday ready to go. This first leg took us for a short walk through low lying scrub and trees to a viewing area overlooking at the only fresh water lake on the Island. We passed a pair of Cape Barren Geese grazing near the almost dry lake and had a look at the bird hides on the raised walking deck.
Returning to the cars we traveled back up Back Beach Rd to the turn off for Pyramid Rock. With stunning coastal views the group walked to the lookout for Pyramid Rock and a group Photo. Walking along the cliff top track to Berry's Beach we saw a pair of wallalbies, plenty of bird life, great scenery and a few huge holiday homes. We descended down a steep stairway at Berry's Beach for a morning break on the beach. Bev presented Andrew Fitzgerald with a Favourites Chocolates "Cake" for his 65th birthday on behalf of the club, we all shared the goodies to celebrate with him. We then climbed the 102 steps back up to the road and returned along the cliff top to the car park at Pyramid Rock.
We then travelled to the Store Cafe in Ventnor for a well earned lunch to round off the day.
