The Legend You Know!

The Story You Don’t!

Tuesday 23rd July. Sherbrooke Forest.

9 of us met at Grants Picnic Grounds for a 10 o’clock start.

Feeling a bit like Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men we headed off into Sherbrooke Forest on the East and West Loops. A few fundulations, a bit of puffing and dare I say some sore calves and glutes. A bit of squishing and sweltching in the muddy terrain with the trusty hiking poles doing a great job holding us in the upright position. It is indeed a beautiful area to hike in with many different routes to choose. The rainforest and waterfalls provided a very picturesque landscape. The weather was amazing and the leeches stayed away. We enjoyed a great 16 km hike ending at the picnic ground cafe for coffee and cake.

Why is everyone so terrified of leeches?

Participants: Patsy, Maree, Michelle, Lizzy, Sue, Andrew, Bev, Rod and, Helen
