A hidden gem of a venue for a quiet morning’s paddle with members of the Strezleckin Bushwalking Club
We meet at the Latrobe Valley Ski Club on Howlett Rd at Halls Bay which is part of Lake Narracan.
It was a lovely sunny day with some light winds at times. We mainly hugged the banks to avoid the wind & spot wildlife. We saw lots of water dragons in the trees & branches over hanging the water. We saw a family of 5 water dragons on one branch & numerous other sightings including a couple on a dead tree a little way from shore, one dropped off & swam to shore, he probably thought there were too many spectators.

We paddled around Halls Bay & returned to the beach at the ski club for morning tea, after which we paddled around Thompson’s Bay & past the Woorabinda school camp, where a cross wind picked up. It became a little choppy till we reached the shelter of the right side of the bay.
We paddled back to the ski club & had lunch on the sandy beach in glorious sunshine.
3 of us went home after lunch & Pat, Roz & Jenny finished the day with another “ticky tour” around Halls Bay.
Participants:-Pat Williams (Leader), Michele Timmins, Roz Spratt, and the following Strzelecki BWC members Richard McNeil, Michael Haynes and Jenni Chandler.
