Paddle Co-ordinator Avenel oversaw those with little practice or experience, Pat and Ros lent a hand and Don led the rest.
Don's group went under the rail trail bridge and almost made it to the Bass Highway bridge. Vegetation and then snags are met when the river narrows. Boat length determines your turnaround point. Most had a drink and snack on the water and some landed. The flow and wind were in our favour for the return.
The other group went upriver and then downriver towards the mouth and back.
Gary amused himself while we paddled.
Lunch was on the grass under the trees.
Plenty of water made for a good paddle.
Rob (caravan park proprietor) was kind enough to let us use his outside toilet and also offered coffees.
Thanks to Avenel (for organizing and bringing extra boats) and the helpers.
See you on the water soon.
