On a sunny but chilly Sunday morning 10 hardy riders gathered in the car park opposite the Mirboo North hall, for a 9am departure to Boolarra along the rail trail. To say the ride down the hill to Boolarra was cold is an understatement . Even though the sun was struggling to break through the shade of the trees ,it was a very icy ride ( did somebody mention wind chill factor).
Having arrived at the Community Hotel carpark in Boolarra we met up with the rest of the crew (i.e. Smart people). From Boolarra the group rode out on the Morwell River Road , some in cars, and enjoyed the wonderful scenery as the road wound its way up the valley. A short walk from the entrance to the falls presented us with a picture of tranquillity as water cascaded over the falls from recent rains. The return ride was just as enjoyable with the added bonus of being mostly downhill.
Back at the Community Hotel the group relaxed and enjoyed a light lunch and refreshments. Other than the cold start it was a beautiful sunny day with very little wind , a great way to spend the day with friends.
Date of Activity: 23rd May 2021
Our brave riders included George & Meg, Ian and Ying, Julie & Alan Coulter, Julia & Ian Drysdale, Elizabeth, Graham, Paula & Steve Horton, Julie Johnston, Chris & Kee Chiam, Frithjof, Fay & John Boag, Kerry & David, Zoe & Richard Baillie
