Approximately 9km walk from the centre of Trafalgar up to and including a circuit of the Uralla Nature reserve. Lunch and refreshments at Eat Live Fresh cafe in Trafalgar
The group met at the car park opposite the old shire offices in Mirboo North to car pool to Trafalgar at 9am.
After parking the vehicles in the carpark behind the shops in Trafalgar we assembled on the corner of Contingent St and Depot Lane ( where there is a map of the walk and public toilets). The group walked south along Contingent St, which has well restored period houses and other points of interest. The road runs into Mirboo North Trafalgar Rd and then we turned right along Giles Rd 1.5k to the reserve .
The main group walked along the Bullocky Track, Ross Track, Donaldson's Track and Stewart's Track up steep climbs and down steep gullies with spectacular trees and ferns. We stopped at Fred's View and beautiful walkway at the bottom of a deep gulley.
The other group opted for a less challenging walk along Bullocky Track,Donaldson's Track and Stewarts Track and encountered similar wonders.
The groups reunited in the central picnic area and we then returned to Trafalgar the way we came for lunch and refreshments at a cafe in town. The weather was mostly overcast with a few sunny breaks and I think everybody had a great day out.
