After meeting at Fish Creek we headed off to the car park at Shallow Inlet for our Australia Day walk. Showery weather greeted us but this was not enough to stop our hearty team of 10.

Judy kindly provided us with our Australian flag to proudly display as we walked. We headed off along the Roy Henderson track through bush heading for Sandy Point before turning and heading back to the beach. Passing alongside the lookout seemed an appropriate photo opportunity before continuing on down the dunes. Once on the beach we headed back toward Shallow Inlet - a great beach walk with the wind blowing away all cobwebs, The rain had eased and we enjoyed the beach to ourselves. After finding our exit point off the beach - reliably informed by Kate that it is “ where the driftwood is”, we stopped over the other side of the dunes for a drink/snack. Judy this time provided us with a “caramello koala” - what else would u snack on on Australia Day!

We continued walking around the inlet until we reached the boat ramp where many boats and cars were gathered including the search and rescue team practising their boat launches. Lunch was enjoyed at the picnic table area before we walked the short distance back to the car park.

Thankyou to Kate and Graham for leading us on this enjoyable walk in a familiar area but with a twist and change of direction
