Many of us have hiked in Gariwerd (Grampians) and are aware of the Grampians Peak Trail development and the separate ongoing issues around rock climbing and therfore may have an opinion about the draft Gariwerd (Grampians) Landscape Management Plan which has been released by Parks Victoria for public comment.

It is fair to assume, many will have strong opinions about the plan. According to the 'savegrampiansclimbing' group for instance, only 22% of routes will be open to climbing and permits will be required.

The management plan is exactly that, a plan setting out the future direction of the park.  Bushwalking Victoria will be submitting a response.

You may, as individuals, also wish to comment on key areas in the draft plan which you can find here

Should you be interested in responding to the draft plan, the State Government has established an Online Consultation platform, by the name of 'Engage Victoria' to provide an easier method of lodging comments without preparing a formal submission. You can find the link to a feedback survey on the Draft Gariwerd (Grampians) Landscape Management Plan here at 'Engage Victoria'

It is understood the deadline for responses is Sunday 24 January 2021.

Peter Maffei, Convenor: Bushwalking Tracks and Conservation (BTAC), Bushwalking Victoria, has encouraged us to review the draft Plan, provide any feedback via the feedback survey and share any issues with Bushwalking Victoria.
