Day Walks are normally held over weekends and are typically longer and more challenging than the Tuesday Walk program.
The destinations are generally located within 1 - 1.5 hours drive and tend to be graded 'easy/medium' for reasonably fit and more experienced walkers who are able to complete a a distance of 15k+ km's.
Sherbrooke Forest

Sherbrooke Forest contains some of the finest examples of towering Mountain Ash, the world's tallest flowering plants, some of them more than 100m in height. Hopefully, we will still enjoy the colours of autumn during our drive to the Dandenongs.
The walk commences at 9.30am from the Grants Picnic Ground. We head via the Clematis Track (western circuit) to Sherbrooke Creek, and then to Micawber Tavern. Here we cross the road to continue our hike along the Bleakeley Track to the Tregallas track to the junction of the Coles Track. From there we continue the eastern circuit via the Neumann track back to the cars.
This is a medium walk, a 11.5km circuit with a few up and downs and possibly a few slippery bits and some roots on the track.
Bring morning tea, snacks and lunch. Don't forget your wet weather gear and poles if you use them.
Vereker Outlook Track/Millers Landing

We meet in Fish Creek at 9.15am car park behind the BP service station (usual spot) for a car shuffle to Five Mile car park at Wilson's Prom.
From Five Mile Carpark we follow the trail through open banksia woodland, past unique grasstrees and up to the spectacularly balanced boulders of Vereker Outlook.
The outlook offers panoramic views across the landscape to Darby Saddle, Corner Inlet and Cotters Beach.
We return to the cars via the Millers Landing Circuit.
This is a Grade 3 walk of approximately 8kms.
Please bring morning tea, snacks, lunch and wet weather gear, and poles if you use them.
